To 'Fridge' the gap

Heya everyone,

I have recently finished the last commission piece from my manic to do list and thought, before i get on with finnishing Howrith, i would show you the fridge piece i was talking about in my previous post to bridge the gap. I have permission from the Commisioner to put the images up on here so without further ado...

Above: The exterior of the fridge with grimey splashes.

Above: A close up of the fridge brand embelishment.

Above: The inside of the fridge with the light on.

The party that commissioned the piece was really happy with it, though being the perfectionist i am there were a couple of little bits and pieces that i wasn't happy with such as the handle being a bit skewiff, a bit of a curved edge on the one side of the door, no stoppers on the underside of the fridge to slightly heighten it off the floor... The little details that i would have liked to put in. A deadline is a deadline though so it was done on time and in budget and exactly how the lient wanted it to be done.

For the same client i had previously made a two seater sofa, a series of scaled mugs, and helped in the fabrication of the protagonist of the film. I've seen some of the footage so far from the short and it's looking good. Yet to see my creations under camera, but lookign forward to finally seeing them. When i have some stills from the film with the props i made in i'll post them up on here for you guys to see... Once i have permission to do so off course!

A 'head' of my work.

Blogger seems to be having some issues, again, and so i am forced to write this from the mobile app which seems to work fine.

Just wanted to share with you guys the progress of one of my projects which is underway. I mentioned in earlier posts about the next animated short that follows on from The Collector... Well the image bellow shows some of the heads and rough sculpts from that next short which are currently residing on one of my shelves. I wont be putting too much up here at moment but later in the year i will devulge more about the project.

For the time being go and check out the website for the original short at www.thecollector-animatedshort.com

Oh and a quick update on another of my current model making projects. I think i mentioned before that i have been commisioned by an animator called Jake Hovelle to create some props for his animated short 'I Could Eat a Horse'. The image below is the bare skeleton of the fridge i am currently working on (i may have it finished by tomorrow morning). The image is from yesterday, but i think you can already see the fridge starting to take shape. I'll post images of the finished piece once it's done and i get the nod to be able to put it up on here!

Some videos

In addition i thought i may add some videos from my YouTube account to show my animating and mould making work.

First up here is my showreel from 2009. Havn't had time to update it yet as i have been very busy since then.

Next up is a time lapse of me making a mould for the head of the pupput you saw in the previous post. It shows the mould making process that i go through and condenses 11 hours work into around 3 minutes of footage.

Enjoy, and i'll try to re-post my previous blogs up here as soon as possible.

Here we go again

Hello to anyone who has read this blog or is here for the first time. I know this may seem like the first post here, but thanks to Bloggers spectacular mess up with their databases/loading an unstable updated site/technical issues i have had to start from square one!
Basically this blog is about my model making work for live action and animation. A journal if you will where i can showcase my works in progress, and if i have time then maybe i can also post tutorials about how i would go about making certain things that you want to see.
For now, as i havn't got time to re-write the posts from before, here is a couple images of the kind of work i do on the animation front!
